Re-enacting Co. F

To bring Co. F 'to life' requires a large collection of reproduction weaponry, clothing, tentage and scores of everyday mid-nineteenth century items and a detailed knowledge of how these things were used. Well equipped re-enactors working from an original drill manual can soon learn a lot about how, and why, soldiers in the real war manoeuvred as they did. A man issued with a Civil War soldier's ration, a skillet and a tin boiler will soon be able to tell you how he cooked!

Re-enactors are neither professional historians nor actors, but are enthusiasts doing their best to honour the courage of previous generations. If you would like to join in please read on...

Membership

We welcome applications from anyone who can help us with an accurate portrayal of this Confederate infantry unit. Members must be aged 17 or over and adopt roles appropriate to their gender and ethnic background. The group is not 'family-orientated'.

We have honorary members descended from soldiers of the original unit.

Cost

A serious participant in this hobby will eventually need to find around £600. Do not be put off by this; initially, our quartermaster can loan much of the equipment needed. Our suppliers may seem expensive, but they provide good kit that retains its value.
